Malawi,
S-Africa and Mozambique

What
a privilege to go and experience all that this
mission trip offered in Malawi and
in South Africa! We were able to "Celebrate" the
marvelous work of the Lord through exuberant
African singing and dancing. The Canadian team
of Seven: Team Leader, Pastor Paul Juss; his
youth leader, Jeff Goulden; Pastor John Schaufele,
Pastor Don Whalen, his youth leader, Julius
Whitlock; Pastor Kerry Klontz, and Gail Tennier,
ministered together for two weeks. The Blantyre-Malawi,
four-day Pastors and Leaders Conference was
hosted by Malawi's National Leader, Bishop
Austin Monkondya. People attending the meeting
were from Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa.
Julius and Jeff not only taught the children,
but played many games with them; and several
youths were baptized in the Holy Spirit! Gail
had the privilege to teach the Word of God
to the women. There was also an Ordination
Service for ten men and women from Malawi and
Mozambique. Our four pastors continuously expounded
God's Word; the people were hungry for God.
African pastors and their families were blessed
with many gifts sent from Canada. Following
the conference, we traveled four hours north
to Salima for a meeting. Then we visited a
newly planted Victory Church in Katawa Village.
Their Chief, (the pastor's brother) and the
headperson (a woman overseeing twenty-three
villages) expressed a desire to "support
God's work." Before leaving Malawi,
we were able to present funds for the construction
of two tin roofs, and a new engine for Bishop
Austin's van. Thank-you, church famiy,for
all you gave to make this gift possible!
"Fruitful" would
adequately describe the week in Johannesburg,
South Africa. Everyone was blessed through
the ministry of the pastors at the weekend
conference. Students from two local high schools
received Christ, many received salvation on
their school campus', in their classrooms and
in their general assemblies. Children from
the "Rose of Sharon" orphanage were
ministered to and experienced the loving heart
of the Father. We are so thinkful and grateful
for Pastor Paul Juss' skillful and sensitive
leadership. Most of all, we thank God whose
grace enabled us and caused us to accomplish
so much during our short time in Malawi and
South Africa!
