Tanzania School Project

A Micro-Loan Success Story

The Victory Christian Schools in Tanzania recently proposed a Micro-Loan project to help fund secular and spiritual education for the children in Tanzania.  The project is an irrigation/agricultural venture, in which fruits and vegetables are grown and sold to support the schools.  Beginning on March 13, 2009, the land has been cultivated, seeds have been bought, a fence has been built, and some seeds have been planted.  There is still a lot of work to do before harvesting the crops.  There are plans to buy a water pump for easy irrigation, to build storehouses for the crops, and a simple shelter for the workers.  By August 13, 2009 the harvest will begin providing funds for building two classes, renovating classrooms, and will pay the teacher salary.  After nine months we will have two teacher offices, fully furnished classrooms, toilets, a kitchen for the dormitory and the school will be self-sufficient!  Not only that, but the loan will be paid back in full, and then given to another worthy project.  These projects will become thriving enterprises and then enable other people and projects to succeed, self propelling the Micro Loans.
