Victory Family, Home of Champions Get New Milk Cow

We received a wonderful gift of a cow from the First Lady of Rwanda, Mrs. Kagame, who after touring VFHC, generously decided to donate a cow so the children could have milk. Unfortunately the cow was unable to have a calf, so the local and government officials worked with us to help us find a new cow. After many months, trips to small farms, walking through seemingly endless pastures, and many cows that would not work, we found it: a healthy cow with a calf, producing many litres of milk each day.

After a week or two of veterinary visits, arrangements to sell our old cow and buy this new one, we heard the news that the cow would arrive. After arranging transport -- a ride in the back of an open truck for our new cow – the cow arrived just before evening, a few short hours after the old cow had been taken by its new owner.

We watched happily as the vet milked the cow for us that first night, giving 2 big jugs full of milk for our children.

Our gardener and jack-of-all-trades, Augustine, now milks the cow each day for us.

Our children have milk to drink each day and we are all very happy with our new cow!
